Plenty of shoulder if you walk a little past the light. Cars are going fast, but!, they can see you at a distance and the ones caught at the light have even more time to consider pulling over. I caught a ride all the way to Colorado from here.―wallpaper

Easy to get rides going east or west here. Large on-ramps for big trucks to pull over, or any vehicle. Truck stop and many other services nearby. You should wait less than 1/2 hour for long ride offer.―Anonymous

I've waited a few times in front of the Sizzler, I usually get picked up within the first twenty minutes. Not an ideal spot, but with a sign it works.―Wallpaper

Take the 5 bus to its northernmost stop and walk out by the shell station. Good for going to the Grand Canyon, Snowbowl, and the junction.―Anonymous

Fairly good place to hitchhike to the Grand Canyon. There's places to pull over and cars going beyond this point are likely to be going to the grand Canyon. It's quite far out of Flagstaff. There's a bus that takes you half the way then it's about a 2 hour walk to this spot.―Anonymous

Nice Shell gas station on the road to the Grand Canyon. A park guide tour picked me up and took me all the way in! I didn't even had to pay for my pass!―Anonymous
