Morro Bay is a beautiful spot but I had a terrible time trying to hitch there. Drivers where extremely rude, flipping me off, yelling at me and taking pictures of me as they drove by!

Tried to go south but only made it to Grover Beach a few miles down. I went to school there for 4 years and never saw any hitchers either. I was able to give a ride from Santa Barbara to SLO once and the guy found a ride immediately on the 1. I'd suggest that. I'm going to give it a try myself in a few.
