Great on-ramp with nice shoulder, but way less traffic than expected. If in Morro Bay, maybe try your luck at 278 instead.Got a ride by the cliché of the Californian surfer. Big beard, straw hat, old stick-truck and a board on the roof.
Sweet man who let me out of Cayucos where I could hitch legally, according to him.

Morro Bay is a beautiful spot but I had a terrible time trying to hitch there. Drivers where extremely rude, flipping me off, yelling at me and taking pictures of me as they drove by!―Anonymous

Tried to go south but only made it to Grover Beach a few miles down. I went to school there for 4 years and never saw any hitchers either. I was able to give a ride from Santa Barbara to SLO once and the guy found a ride immediately on the 1. I'd suggest that. I'm going to give it a try myself in a few.―Sark

Going north. I've dropped someone off and hitched this spot myself. The guy I dropped off found a ride before I could even turn around and it took me 5 minutes before someone stopped.―Anonymous
