Cars are coming too fast on the highway, but you can probably get someone coming from the Stop.

Bert & Theresa gave me a ride, offered me their stories and a fresh cream soda.
Before them, a young man stopped, but he could only offer me a ride inland.
Both were coming from the other side of the road.

Outstanding view on Morro Rock while waiting.

Sign saying 'PCH'.

Great on-ramp with nice shoulder, but way less traffic than expected. If in Morro Bay, maybe try your luck at 278 instead.

Got a ride by the cliché of the Californian surfer. Big beard, straw hat, old stick-truck and a board on the roof.

Sweet man who let me out of Cayucos where I could hitch legally, according to him.

Took the bus from SLO to Morro Bay and got a short ride North on the 1 within 10 minutes. It was easy to get picked up.

Going north. People get the drift that you're just traveling up the coast. All the same, there are some older people in this area who aren't super keen on picking you up. However, there are also the baby-boomer locals who used to hitch back in their day. I might try Cayucos drive before this spot, but it was decent all the same.
