As neat as last time, great place to head out North. They were supposed to drop me in the previous town, but they offered to go all the way to Santa Cruz, despite the traffic. Two lovely Mexican souls, with whom I shared conversation about beliefs, reincarnation, samsara, and the work in CA fields.

Looks like a good place, with good vision and traffic heading to Santa Cruz coming through 101 form South have to pass through.People were driving too fast and almost got hit by a car.
Victor, an important person in the art community of the area gave me a ride in his fancy car. Maybe we'll have a chance to collaborate together one day...

Good intersection between 101 and 46, lots of smiling and supportive people, although they didn't stop.Irene was out for a drive, told me about the crazy shit she went through in her life and how the Lord guided her and spoke to her at some time.
She took time to drop me at the best spot in Salinas to keep going.

As I got on the side of the road, the bus pulled over and let me in for free. I even received a day-pass from the driver. In the bus, a young dad gave me $5 and chicken wings.
Santa Cruz seems real to its reputation !

No point aiming at the traffic coming from the highway, plenty of people stopping at the stop when coming from Castroville.Mt driver was a young Mexican studying Diesel engineering, very enthusiastic about my travels and supportive.
Offered to buy me some snacks at the gas station.
Sign saying 'PCH'.

wide shoulder, good people watching - a bit sketchy to get to. traffic light a bit north of pin is helpful for slowing down traffic.―4denosin3

Really excellent spot, but it takes a little walk. I took the 71 bus from downtown Santa Cruz to Watsonville transit center, where I walked to Salinas Rd. Along Salinas, I passed by some strawberry farms with no fence and had a nice strawberry breakfast and walked about 4 miles until I got to HWY 1, which is legal to walk on right after it meets up with Salinas Rd. Here I got a bottleneck of all the traffic leaving SC south and got a ride 5 hrs away to Ventura in about 15 minutes. I think it's a great way to leave SC going south.―Anonymous

There's a gas station right on the side. I seemed to get lucky and find a ride pretty quickly.―Anonymous

Lots of traffic. Long, wide shoulder. All vehicles need to slow/yield before turning, giving plenty of time to see you. 26 min wait―Anonymous
