Pretty solid place, serves both directions(which are to the best of my recollection on separate parking lots). Lots of Quebecois, although mostly with full cars (I was told they were returning from Florida). Declined a couple of shorter rides until eventually settling for a ride with a Vermonter who took me all the way to Glens Falls. The I-87 gets very lonely North of Glens Falls.-uncle_sam01

There may be legal issues to hitching from this thruway service area, but nobody bothered me standing by the door with my sign. A lot of traffic going a long way stops here, and it definitely beats being stuck in Albany. After a bit over an hour got a ride through to Burlington, Vermont.―Anonymous

Felt a little odd hitchhiking in the middle of the city but we got a ride all the way to the bus station in Troy pretty quick. All the folks we met in upstate New York were really nice.―Mossythemuse

Quick ride up to Albany. Dropped us at the start of I-187.―Mossythemuse
