We were told by law enforcement that hitchhiking is illegal throughout the whole of Michigan and forced to leave this spot. While this statement is questionable, you'd be better off walking, to the nearest great lake and then swimming to Canada. o_O Good luck, you'll need it.―Anonymous

Hitching out of inner-city Detroit can be kind of rough, but this spot gets lots of medium-distance traffic from students and workers at the university. Safe during the day, but I'm not sure I'd walk around by myself with a pack here after dark.―Anonymous
