if you need to go to san Fran, there's a public library in sparks, with free internet connection, you canbuy a megabus ticket to san fran fro 14/17 dollars. It leaves everyday from the bus terminal in sparks at 10 am and at 3pm.

Waited all morning but nobody stopped. People go to reno to gamble, not to pick up hitchikers. Too hot under the sun and no shade.

I got almost arrested here. For jaywalking and hitchiking. Cops in reno and sparks are the most bastard in america.

Really easy to hitch rides to Carson city. Took less than ten mins.

Very big truck stop, but truckers just aren't allowed to take passengers. The place is damn busy, but I had to wait an hour to get a few miles down the road to another truck stop in the desert. Police drove by and didn't do anything, maybe because I didn't have a sign.

This exit is all Jersey barrier. There is a little bit of a "shoulder" but it doesn't offer any room to pull off. You may have luck at the nearby Petro truck stop, but if you're on foot don't bother coming out this far.

I arrived shortly after 8 am, waited right next to the truck exit and was told by security that he couldn't say anything if I was flying behind the gate (on the sidewalk). Held a sign out and got a trucker offer me a ride in under an hour and a half headed to Omaha.

Hitched from a literal bear poacher named John Wayne. He was working as a pit toilet pumper. Most memorable hitch ever.
