Aiming for Paris, got there at 10 for Strasbourg by train to Saverne + foot, almost no traffic until 11. Many workers who won't take anyone in their service car. Also lots of people going not very far or to Metz / Nancy. Some truck drivers but no luck with them.
Got a ride at 12 to Paris suburbs by a guy who picked a car in Germany. He wasn't supposed to stop there so I was lucky.
Overall I don't know if it's a good spot or if I was lucky this time but it worked !

There is a gap in the guardrail a bit past the roundabout towards the west where a new lane forms. Decent spot with decent traffic and I got a ride with a Serbian guy going to Lazarevac. I think it would have been better for me to wait here a bit longer because I didn't quite understand him and eventually when he found out I was going to Chachak he hailed a bus on the highway off onto the side of the highway even though I told him I don't want to do that and he said I didn't have to pay but I ended up having to pay 1300 RSD for the bus. I found an Italian who was going to Zaragoza also and we were both asking and signing at the exit for a ride. Took a while due to so little people going that way but eventually I got a ride with a Colombian person who took me to the centre of Zaragoza (sadly the other hitchhiker went for food when this happened).

Great spot, got a ride with an Estonian going close to the Latvian border within 10 minutes. Cars drive fast but lots of traffic. A bit weird to walk to due to construction but if you catch a bus here it would be a lot easier.

Probably the best spot to head west from Zaragoza. Even though there isn't much traffic people go slow and go far. You can reach here by local train for a couple euros and walking for about an hour. I got lucky and got a ride with a Basque person who was wondering wtf I was doing. I had a sign for Pamplona but ended up going to Vitoria-Gasteiz with him.

Went a little past the second petrol station and got a ride super quick. Big sign for beyneu (boy+girl). Can get a Yandex Go here for next to nothing. Petrol stations have toilets and there is heaps of room for trucks to pull over.

Precisely this curb in front of a semi abandoned hairdresser(?) is probably the best way to get out of this godforsaken city. Finding cardboard is hell because of competition with local homeless, but the convenient double-storey ikea-style Lidl right across the street has an excellent array of un morceau de carton en rab for any down on their luck traveler.

I met some others hitchhiker, it was a really good moment.
We slept on Mars, close to the port. ( They cut down the jungle )
I think it's the best place to go canaries, but you have to know in Gibraltar the gasoline is cheaper so all boat fill their tank in Gibraltar.
It took me 1 week to find, but I'm lucky to be french, the sailor wasn't speaking English, only french.

Looks like a good spot to get out of the city. The highway entrances have no space for cars to stop, but here there is space next to the road. Traffic is going slow because of traffic lights. Lots of local cars. Also Köln, Düsseldorf and Neuss license plates. Somebody stopped for direction Dortmund, but not my direction. Tried with sign 'Neuss'. Took a break at the cafe around the corner for a coffee and toilet. And then with sign 'D' (Düsseldorf). Nice guy picked me up and drove to Neuss.
