We were waiting for a ride to the south, to the České Budějovice. Most cars are going to Brno.―prominkuba

Once stood at the ramp rather than the gas station itself, it went very quickly.―Anonymous

Got lift directly to Prague city center for train. In the meantime plenty of offers, mainly local, but also Olomouc.
No shade. Highway police have this possibly as spot to hang out. There were two of them.
Yet drivers stopping with offers.
Walked there from nearby resting area, doable, in ~ 30 min.

Not many cars there (at Sunday), originally our plan was to go to Dresden, but found a ride to Prague. Place looked great but it was a little empty after 1pm.―Granulka

This spot is easy to get to from the city, but it took long to find a ride to germany. There were only 8 german cars in the timw we waited. (3,5 hours) and people from cz did not really want to take us to the next petrol station. This is a general experience I have had here, it is hard to get rides from czech people. We were with two people and found another hitchhiker who also slept near the same spot. Together with the three of us we found a ride to germany. The driver is going all the way to berlin. It might be nice to try out the bigger petrol station further along the road if you get stuck. There might be more international cars there.

lots of traffic, unfortunately we had to wait a lot longer than anticipated. talked with an elderly couple with vienna plate two minutes after reaching the spot but they didn’t want to take us with them.after that just waited at the exit, there’s an „official hitchhiking spot“ sticker
had two signs, vienna and brno, got picked up by two workers on their way to brno. seems way easier than going straight to vienna

we took a bus directly from the city and walked a few metres to the spot. 2 other people were with us there, but that wasn’t a problem. even though it was wednesday 1 pm, we got a ride after 14 minutes of waiting. good first experience―Anonymous

Strolled around a bit to find a good spot, then just stood at the gas station exit to the motorway with a Praha sign for 30 minutes. Very few cars going through the gas station, but in my opinion still the best bet going West from Brno since all cars go in the direction of Prague. Eventually got picked up by an extremely nice Slovakian/Ukrainian couple and got dropped off exactly where I wanted to go in Prague. About reaching the gas station: like the hitchhiker before me, I drove to the station with the train (two stops, S4/S41), then went along the street to the bridge under the motorway. Climbed up the steep hill next to the bridge and walked 500 m alongside the motorway (outside the railing!!) to the gas station. Not the best spot to reach, but very doable and a lot easier than I imagined after reading the other comments―Mangoontheroad

Good spot. Me and my girlfriend waited just a few minutes with a sign "Budějovice". A business man picked us up and took us to a gas station in Benešov where its easier to catch someone going south (No more cars going to Brno).―Anonymous
