What hitchhikers said along this route

“I walked here for 4 hours from the centre, because other spots did not exist before. But the spot was perfect. After 10 minutes a Slovak took me to Ljubljana and from there I got 5 minutes later directly a ride across Austria to my home”

“A lot of traffic but noone taking us to Rijeka, in the end we made a sign for Karlovač and got picked up. It’s on a crossroads near a pedestrian crossing, just next to the on-ramp for the highway. Nice runoff area for pickup.”

“Good spot! Its at the entry of the highway, but there is enough space to stop. Got a ride after 35 minutes with a man who works in Zagreb but lives in Slovenia. He took me straight to Ljubljana :)”

“Got lucky a guy bring us to the gas station after Slovenia border but there is not so much cars, mostly with Zagreb shields”

“We had to give up on this spot. We wanted to go to Graz (we had a sign) .There were too many croatian cars and not croatian cars were either full or were going to the opposite direction. I don't know if we were there at a bad time (10:40 - 11:40) or if it is just a bad spot but the result was the same. After that we went on to the highway and hitchhiked on the side. A guy going to Germany took u”

“A lot of tourists going back to Poland, Slovakia, Czechia and Austria. Lot of space for cars to stop. Also the gas station that is close has very nice staff. They gave me cardboard and a marker to write my sign.”

“There's a gas station over here. Really great gas station! It's lovely place, where you can easily get out toward Wien. It's took us about 5 minut to get lift from here directly to Poland.”

“We were trying to leave Zagreb and this was really nice spot. You can take train to Kupljanovo and walk here.”

“Classic gas station. It would be a good spot, but croatians dont take hitchikers.”
― boris, Tue 2025-10-07 · Odmorište Jakovlje
“First car accepted me. You can take train from Zagreb to Kupljenovo after that 20 min walking .keep in mind that you have to cross the highway to the opposite side if you are going towards Slovenia, when I was there there wasn't much traffic, January morning weekday”
