Lots of Traffic, sweet parking bay for cars to stop, most drivers seem rather unfriendly of hitchhikers but nevertheless took me less than 15 minutes to get a ride to Ljubljana

Awesome! Get sure which road is the one who works for you. I waited 1 hour in the wrong one ://

There was not much all that much traffic, but with patience you can get a ride.

It was quite busy so asking around worked really well here. Lots of foreign number plates.

A lot of cars in the morning, you can easily catch a ride to Ljubljana and even Austria and Hungary.

We wanted to get to the highway in direction of Vrhnika but nobody stopped.

Honestly one of the best spots of my life. A lot of cars, you see them coming from far away, many tourists. A couple of Hungarians drove me to Ljubljana. I had a sign "LJ - Zagreb" and came there using a local bus from Trieste (check the number on Google maps, I do not remember).

Had a sign for Zagreb and got a ride pretty easily considering most of the traffic was probably commuters.

Good place to go towards Maribor. It is a bus stop so there is a lot of space to pull over. Cars are not going fast because it's right after a roundabout.

Have sign novo mesto, Zagreb. My goal it's to just go out of the city, and next find some gas station.

Planned was to go to Novo Mesto. A lot of local you live in between. 2 cars stopped before but only went to a small city 15 km away from Novo Mesto. I took the second chance and decided to take a bus for 3€ from Trebnje then.

Nice station going to Zagreb.
Got there from the overpass west of there, then slipped under the bridge and after jumping the fence (1.5m high, pretty accessible) had to go along the rail for 100m or so.
The station can host many trucks but there weren’t that many of them on an early summer Wednesday.
In the end I approached mostly people at the gas station.
Also, the toilets cost 1€ but easy to hide behind a truck.

Great spot for going East (Ljubljana in my case). Asked everyone for a lift and a truck driver took me on his way to Zagreb.
Employees said hi, pretty cool folks. But I didn’t dare take my LJ sign out in case the Police stopped by (happened to me in Padova)

Guy and girl heading to Ljubljana. Bus stop is a good spot, quickly got a lift all the way (with sightseeing stops on the way). Lots of tourists crossing the pass, and the road is super wide at that point. Maybe we were a bit lucky that the layby wasn't full of parked cars yet as the parking seemed crazy on the pass.

We were told by locals it was the perfect spot because you can travel north and south. You can wait in the shadow and are visible to all cars entering the highway
