Tough spot, a lot of heavy vehicles but no intensive to offer a ride. Can be hard to find a good spot. At the end I hung around the gas station. I had no luck with standing near the exit or in the town. After all got a ride to Wien.

You definitely got to approach people, we stood at an intersection and got some reactions but no one stopped. The third person we asked took us close to Salzburg. It was a lovely ride.

Great spot, around 40 cars per minute on a Friday midday. Our sign said Munich and we got dropped off close to Linz.

Wasn't lucky because of the rain but quite good spot on the roundabout. Not so crowded area on a afternoon weekday

Don´t start too early in the morning. We did and there was not too much traffic. After unsuccessfully trying to hitch the country road we came back split up and found a lift for each of us pretty quickly.

Got stuck here for nearly 5 hours. There is a lot of traffic here but no one wanted to pick us up

Sometimes there is not as much traffic but we talked to everyone who stopped there and eventually it worked after 1 hour. Talking worked, the sign did not

Lots of cars, in multiple directions (Sopron, Wien, Linz). Didn't have to aks around, got picked up quickly without a sign. No shade is hard in the summer.

good spot, a good few cars going to the rest station, but i got moved on by cops after like 20 minutes here. you could talk to drivers and get a lift fairly easily i guess.

here is a good spot but on a saturday in summer there were many families and cars with no space. there was also a vaction driving ban for truckers so i couldnt ask them for rides either. i tried thumbing from the end of the station but i eventually got a lift talking to some hippie looking people going to graz. a lot of the drivers who had no space were going to vienna or elsewhere in austria.

A bit so so since there were roadworks, but cars aren't going fast and a car can pull over, took the first ride to a gas station 10km away.

spent a lovely night in the Shell after not managing to get a lift out. However, we chanced the Tesla superchargers and got a lift from the first guy we met! Wouldn't recommend this spot as a lot of traffic was going to Linz - instead of back on the motorway.

not so bad, kind of a game of chance with the traffic lights. waited here with a sign that said salzburg / linz and finally a guy picked me up and drive me just to the closest gas station on the a9 where i then caught a ride with a truck to wels. not the worst, not the best. was thinking of trying the gas station about a kilometer closer to graz, could be better there to ask around.
