2 persons going to Italy ; most people actually going inside Graz or Slovenia. Convinced someone to make a detour to the first gas station after graz towards italy.Quite some cars stopping, wasnt boring, definitely not the worst spot but we didnt get so lucky.

Good spot! I needed to wait an hour to find a ride to Graz, but many cars are passing and they often go a further distance. You can decide if you want to talk with people at the gasstation or stand before with a sign. I got a lift with an campervan (elderly couple from the UK).―Carl07

A lot of people from Slovenia work in Austria. We (2) asked a guy with a Slovenian license plate and took us directly to gas station next to Maribor which was good spot for our next ride to Ljubljana.―TwoThumbsTravel

We were dropped here on Tuesday 4pm and didn’t catch anything till Wednesday 3pm. Spot looks good but Austrian drivers are terrible for hitchhiking, everyone I spoke to was looking at me strangely and didn’t want to talk at all. The only way to get out of here are foreign drivers.―Mikolaj

Got dropped here by a local, so I would say probably one of the best places to get a ride towards Slovenia - Croatia.
A guy noticed our sing and we managed to get with him all the way to Zagreb.

We've been hitchiking to Italy for 3 hours from 17:00 with no luck, so we slept in tent in the near woods. Next morning we got a ride in about an hour.―Petrchutny

It took us one hour to catch a car to Vienna. Some lorry drivers offered to stay with them till midnight then go to Bratislava :) Good luck!―Anonymous

Headed for Italy, we were dropped here at 23:30 on a Wednesday. There was no significant traffic, so we had to pitch a tent for the night. It's a popular stop for truck drivers, so in the morning we hitched a truck from Turkey in about 15-20m.―Michailnenkov

15 min with a sign got me all the way to klagenfurt (south west) and a meal :]other than here, Graz is a bit hard to leave in my opinion
