Tried hitching a ride on the right side of the road in front of the traffic light with a sign saying "east", 1h no luck. Then a friendly driver told me to stand on the left side of the eastward traffic, on the traffic island there, because the two leftmost Lanes go mostly eastward and the right lane goes North and west. Was lucky in 30 more minutes. Great spot to stop in front the traffic light, loads of room there.―Anonymous

I was unable to get a ride east. After 1h, I stand at the red light across the junction instead and got a ride within seconds.―Xavi67

2 of us waited about 45 minutes. Cars are fast, there's no much place to stop, but still after enough time someone will pull over. Whole Trans-Canada traffic goes here.―K9f100

There is a strip mall to the north of the intersection, with a laundromat. Standing here you will get a lot of Stoney trail traffic, but its less of a walk. Better for later in the day.―Anonymous

Location is conveniently accessible by public transport. I stood here for about an hour unsuccessfully waiting for a ride to Edmonton since most of the traffic is going to Airdrie. Easier to go there first if you need to go north.―Anonymous

At the red light, I showed a sign to Regina and got a ride within seconds to Strathmore.―Anonymous

Got picked up by an Amazon delivery driver from Ukraine, one of the nicest people I’ve met, risking his job to pick up me 😅. He drove me to the Amazon warehouse and brought me a hot chocolate, then I slept in a nearby field―Blorbil

Hitching east out of Creston sucks. 99% of the traffic you'll see is local. This spot isn't great but it's kind of your best option. There is a set of lights to slow traffic down, and a parking lot for cars to pull off the road. Local traffic usually turns off at this intersection.

Got a ride super quick. All the highway through-traffic goes through here, with some cars coming from the off-ramp from Gasoline Alley. Excellent visibility, room to pull over.*On a highway though, so be careful.*

Good spot, lots of traffic, high visibility and frequent traffic light changes. Most of the traffic isnt going far, so only got a short stop to Strathmore.
Definitely follow other reviewers advice about the side of the road to stand on.

I posted up a little farther down the ramp but close enough. It's a good ramp. If you're planning to get caught in Lake Louise, bring provisions though. Stores here will rip you off.―RDATH
