Good traffic. Lots of room for cars to safely stop. Got a ride to Banff.

This is your best bet for hitching west from Calgary.

Got a direct ride to Banff on friday around 5pm, shoulder is not really wide but people could pick you up !

On ramp has extremely little westbound traffic, you have to get on the highway. I got lucky because the guy took a wrong turn and ended up there and picked me up, otherwise I was going to walk up to the highway.

A random traffic light in the suburban sprawl, with a sign saying Canmore /shrug/

Getting here was damn painful - loads of construction on/around the on ramps people typically use to hitch out. Otherwise decent spot - lots of room to stop and lots of through traffic, esp. on weekends in the summer (people going to Banff).

Take the 108 bus to the soccer field nearby, walk to the back of the soccer field and hop the fence/gate. Highway shoulder was closed for construction when I went, so getting a ride was difficult. Decent room to pull over otherwise. Lots of on-ramps leading here, so drivers aren't quite at highway speeds yet. Went EBD to Sicamous with a truck driver.

The spot works... but there´s a ton of traffic and it´s not very chill. No traffic lights anymore.
