Good spot for going to the Kootenay Lake ferry, Kaslo, or the long way around to the Slocan. Situate yourself at the EMS station. Plenty of room to pull over. People driving slow after a stop light. Friendly folks in Nelson. Should get a ride within 30 mins at a reasonable time of day.―Anonymous

Not the best place at all (not so much room to pull over and cars are passing slightly fast), but got a ride after 20 min.―Anonymous

Look for the tourist parking area on the North side. Enough for cars to pull into the parking lot for you can load up! Nelson people are nice―Anonymous

There is a park and ride, just past the end of the on ramp. If you're hitching in the winter don't accept a ride to the ski hill unless you're going up there. In the past, I did and I spent the night in the middle of nowhere.―AngryOtter
