Got a ride all the way to calgary, i think i was very very lucky. Good spot with a traffic light ans a large shoulder. People are going fast when the light is green but there is good visibility―Mick

Whatever you do, try not to get dropped off here, as it is real easy to get stuck. Going west, walking to the edge of town is best because there is a long pullout where cars can stop. I ended up waiting a number of here, due to what I figure is a large amount of local traffic on this road. My ride took me to a gas station a little ways down the road that was a much better place to hitchhike from.―Anonymous

Plenty of space and good speeds after the lights. Road splits up ahead, so good idea to have a sign―Anonymous

Awesome spot for going east. Great visibility. Right after a traffic light, lots of room to pull over. Lots of through-traffic. Highly recommend.―robotdog

They are upgrading the highway in this area. Hitching west out of Salmon Arm is next to impossible at this point. After I gave up, I notced that there is a city bus that takes you to the top of the hill and it looks like there is a hitchable spot up there, but I haven't tried it.―AngryOtter
