2 of us hitchiked here 2 times, one time it took us 5 mins and the other time it was around 30 mins. Not a lot of trafic but everyone is heading to Sun Peaks. That was during winter season, not sure how about during the summer.

Enough traffic during winter time during the day. Cars are going 50-70 km/h. Local picked us up and dropped us off in Kamloops. One of the best way to travel from Sun Peaks.

Tried asking people for rides at this big gas station, but they threatened to call the police on us. Still managed to sneakily get a ride though ;)

We got stuck at this horrible intersection, trying to head north. No rides all day, and hardly any shade either. Kamloops is also crack city, careful if you have to camp here.

Slow hitching here, but heading north to Prince George, it may be your best option. There's a stoplight, room to pull over, and a gas station with bathrooms and water.

Kamloops is terrible to hitchhike through, if you are going west make sure to get a spot a ways before the city, as it is just a jungle of highway. I was dropped off at a off-ramp by a flying J gas station before town by a driver who used to hitchhike, it was a good spot.

It was getting dark and I was about to head into the forest to pitch my tent after 1 hour of waiting, but then... an old hippie stopped for me and took me all the way to Clearwater. He let me stay in his house for a night, I got something to eat, a warm coffee in the morning, two hands full of weed and a 20 dollar bill!!! My best hitchhiking experience so far.

It was a long walk from Kamloops, but once there I didn't have to much trouble. the traffic was a little light.

We came here after the failure of hitchhiking 200m before on highway (see other post).
Few cars passing but they will take you! (we were heading east)
