Theoretically a perfect place to hitchhike. Most people are going in the right direction, the cars are moving slowly and there's lots of places to stop. Still, it didn't seem like anyone was going to stop for me.In the end, I smiled and waved at someone and they stopped. They said they never took hitchhikers before.
There are two checkpoints and I recommend trying both. I had luck when I moved from the croatian side to the slovenian side.
The driver took me to the bridge near Kirk and I found a lovely spot to camp. Walk down to Plaža Črišnjeva (there is a bar if you want to refill water or treat yourself to a beer). Walk along the coastal path. I found a small rocky beach to sleep on for the night. Will mark it on the map!

Lots of traffic due to a 2cv citroen car festival. It meant a lot of the traffic was local but there were also cars going further. I was picked up by a smart car. My first time in a smart car - they're bigger than you think!Driver took me past where he was going and dropped me at the border crossing for Croatia.

many tourists coming from Austria, Germany, with no Space, a Ukrainian dad with his children picked both of us up (m/22) we definitely recommend trying in the morning till afternoon, we waited 3hrs from 18:30 - 21:30 the day before and slept in the woods nearby, the next day it took us 25min to get picked up―just2chillguys

The bus stop after the roundabout is the best spot if you're going from Pula to Rijeka, many cars going even in the evening and the highway to rijeka starts soon. Two cars stopped for me, but the first one offered me a ride to the airport, it wouldn't have been a good choice to take that ride though as most ppl from the airport are going back to Pula.―Anonymous

Mostly fully packed family cars going on holidays. We were two men (czech.asian and ukrainian) hitchhiking to Rijeka. The beat way to get a ride was to cold approach drivers stopping at the petrol station. There a lot of traffic tho.―Anonymous

It looks as good spot to try to hitchhike someone, but it is not. Everyone goes on vacation, so they have got full car or goes only to Maribor. We tried it there for like 6 hours with sign "Ljubljana", but nobody stopped. Good thing about it is a Field behind the gas station for a night in a tent. It is better to ask people then Wait. And maybe ask people with the same nationality. :)―RicoHard

Many cars going to Rjeka, Pula and Zagreb, not many going south. Also lots of Romanians and Bosnians, but most cars don’t have a whole lot of space, so better for solo travelers. Got a ride to Zagreb after asking someone with the right numberplate. Nice and helpful staff at the gas station―Anonymous
