In theory great spot for Split/Rijeka/Zagreb, it's just full of tourists that don't take people and for the truckers it's good to catch them at the right time(for me early morning, as i slept here)

My friend and I waited here with a sign saying Zagreb and got picked up alm immediately by a beekeeper. Now I know what Royal Jelly is! 10/10 can recommend

My friend (f) and I (m) waited here with a sign saying Dugopolje for a very very short time, got picked up by a lady from Dugopolje who very proudly offered us to show us around her city and showed us the church. Great spot, can recommend :)

Lots of traffic and space to pull over. But only maybe 1% rate of reactions at all. Many drivers pretend you don't exist and many are going north rather than south. Police don't care that you're there.

Got a truck in the southern direction eventually!

We stood at the toll 60min with a Dubrovnik sign
The spot is fine, we just had no luck. Most cars where full with families. In the end a nice guy took us to Makarska

Good spot, lots of cars stop on their way to Split. A guy saw us getting off the car with our sign in hand and went to talk to us ;) that's luck

A good spot with lots of traffic. There were lines of traffic at the toll booth so I walked along them and asked drivers. Someone took me half way to Dubrovnik. I should have waited for a lift the whole way - I'm sure I would have found one!

The toll booth to the highway can be a bit tricky to hitch. Most of the cars are going towards Dubrovnik so you can always take one of those to the next gas station (some 30km away), cross the street and get a ride towards Zagreb.

Me and friend of mine got a ride in hour and a half to Zagreb (we were going in Rijeka, so the guy left us earlyer on the road). Most of people are going in Dubrovnik on that spot but it's not that hard for Zagreb i think. ;)

You can get to Zadar from here in no time, but to Zagreb it may be a bit tricky-took me 2 hours.

Mostly locals but some people are hitting the highway. I was going west and had to wait a bit but there were many people going to Dubrovnik
