The toll booth to the highway can be a bit tricky to hitch. Most of the cars are going towards Dubrovnik so you can always take one of those to the next gas station (some 30km away), cross the street and get a ride towards Zagreb.―Anonymous

Easy rides to Dugopolje toll booth (cestarina), from where you can continue towards Zagreb or Dubrovnik. With a sign "Dugopolje" you get a ride in 15 minutes, because many of the cars are going to Sinj and other nearby towns.―Anonymous
