Waited here for an hour and didn't find a ride south. I then continued by bus to the omramp to the main coastal road and instantly found a ride from there.

Got there at 14:15. Maybe earlier morning works better seeing the other review here. Lot’s of traffic but one one stopped. Finally, I got picked up by a local who asked for money. After declining money he still offered to take me anyway. Got down at Sibenik.

(direction Split) good spot for cars to stop but Makarska is a horrible place to hitchhike overall especially going south. going to Split seems way easier

I was walking towards the bigger road and tried to hitchhike along the way with a sign "Split" it worked and I wasn't even trying too hard! :))

Had a sign "Split" got a ride to Split. Good spot in May. Could be worse outside of the season.

Got a direct ride to Split on a Sunday. There are many bus stops where you can stand so that cars can stop easily

Easy rides to Dugopolje toll booth (cestarina), from where you can continue towards Zagreb or Dubrovnik. With a sign "Dugopolje" you get a ride in 15 minutes, because many of the cars are going to Sinj and other nearby towns.

I was ther for an hour or so and I dont think its a good spot: it is still centre of the town, there are many buses and local divers. There some international cars but mostly when a ferry arives to the port. I walked out of the town and got a ride in 15 mins

Not easy to do Split-Zadar by the coast! Favor the Highway!!
But you will be caught by tourists.

Le voyage de Split a Zadar peut se faire par la côte, mais privilégier l'autoroute! Seuls les touristes s’arrêteront pour vous prendre.

Two hitchhikers (boys) and we waited less than 5 minutes before getting picked up by a caravan. Lots of space to be seen and for cars to stop, highly recomend

Good spot, it is the magistrale on the coast. Some people stop there to park an swim, but we got a ride directly to split. If you don‘t get a ride, there‘s enough shadow, you can swim, there is dixies, and you have a nice place to put tent or hammok nearby.

Much better to walk towards the Split airport on the big crossing a little bit north to the airport, we waited 40minutes without anything

We got very lucky and we got picked up really soon, by a local woman who used to hitchhike too. It is a bus stop, so it works everytime. Sign for Split.
