basically that’s the spot for the ferry to talinni have tried to find a boat before with asking marinas but mostly in the time that i got it was not doable, 100%better with ferry
it cost around 40 so a week of waiting will have cost me the same
plus it’s around 20h to 1 day of sailing and u need to have good skills, soooooo
you can try but ferry could be very useful if u got like 2 days in helsinki before talinn

Hitchiked directly from the staircase where everyone leaves the car deck from on the Eckerö line boat! Go to the car deck immediately when you get on the boat when everyone is coming out of their cars. Recommend doing this so you can get a ride before you even come out of the boat!―Jarnohitchikes

Good spot to catch cars/trucks out of the ferry, there's space to stop and entrance to a parking. If you come in the Viking Line you will have time to catch at least the last half of the vehicles heading out. Got a truck almost all the way to Riga. Do you want to go to Finland and have experience of the lifetime? If yes, this is a place for you. Stand by the gate to the pier, there is only one and every boat owner need to come through it. Now just ask if somebody is going to Finland and maybe you will be lucky as I was.Few tips:
Good weather helps
On Friday and weekend plenty of people are going to Finland and back
Summer is prime time
Looking clean is useful
Absolutely majority of boat owners don't wake up before 10 am.
Have your ID/ passport ready.
