Even if hitching work in direction North, it takes way too long with only short ride, and the Highway access in Gien isn't the best place to catch a ride further North. It's better to try reaching the highway from Bourges through another road.―Anonymous

Towards South (Clermont-Ferrand, Lyon) is quite a bad location, more people are heading to the North. Waited more than 5 hours here once to hitch a ride for 2 to Lyon.―Anonymous

Seems not such a great place. You have to stand behind the sign which forbids to be there for pedestrians (but maybe it is not a big deal in France :):)) Most of the cars just going to city (so another roundabout). Which can be helpful if you got stuck.―Anonymous
