A lot of space, cars go slow. Did'nt wait long to go straight to Grenoble.―Olaf

There is a bus stop to find shelter. A lot of cars and not fast. Maybe just alittle difficult to find a car straight to Bourg d'Oisans or Grenoble as a lot of cars go just to Monétier and before.―Olaf

3 cars stopped in 10 minutes. I let 2 pass because they they did'nt go far enough for me. Plenty of space and cars go slow.―Olaf

Maybe did I get lucky but I had a ride to Milan from there in 15 minutes. She was driving someone as a blablacar service. They saw a hitch hiker 15min before, talked about it and she defined that she would take the next one.
Big up to the hitch hiker (maybe here) thanks to whom I was able to get this long ride.

Going East/ to Italy, Oulx. Very good spot but no shades. But it is the only way to Italy so everyone passes here and people are friendly in this area.―Johj

Going East, towards Italy. Busy road with friendly people. Sometimes cars come and park here for a short time, but there was still enough space for stopping.―Johj

Managed to escape the Tour de France last minute... Not a usual hitchhiking situation with parking cars everywhere, but I was happy to get away from here―Johj

A lot of cars coming through and they can pull over at the bus stop. It was on the day the Tour de France is in the area so a lot of cars were full. But a women still took close to Le Bourg d‘Oisans. We used an Alpe d‘huez sign but when the tour isn’t there other signs may be better―GoFi

There is good traffic going south and cars can pull over on the huge gravel area. We waited an hour until a woman took us to briancon. Used France sign―GoFi

I always take this spot to go to Yverdon/Lausanne or further (Geneva or France). There is not as many cars as you would imagine, but at some point people stop, and there is plenty of room for them to stop :)―Acab13120
