I stood between the two left lanes at the peage entrance with a sign to Arles, to eventually go to Nîmes. After 10 min a guy took me, initially going to Arles but offered me to take me to Nîmes because the two cities are close and it would be not so easy to leave Arles

Coming from Marseille, got dropped off here to change direction and go westwards.
I stood rigth after the toll gate, next to the toll's rest area entrance so cars could stop there. There is a nice tree to give you shadow here super neat!
I had to wait a bit but a truck stopped goind to Barcelona, perfect ride !
No sign.

Started with a thumb and then switched to a sign with "peage" written on it cause several cars stopped after 15 minutes but the traffic lights you could take two opposite directions and it wasn't very ideal. I think in general was a good spot to get to the highway, plenty of time to be seen before the traffick lights and cars could stop.

Good place, next to parking, cars going slow and have space to stop. Lot of cars going to Marseille direction or Montpellier. One guy took us (2) from here to toll behind Montpellier, which wasn’t the best idea, because of legality and cars start going there faster. So we jumped the fence and found another place where it was much more safer and comfy. Try to stay on highway if you go long distances and petrol stations as well. Had a sign Montpellier

Very bad spot, parking for 10-20 cars and a toilet. Waited more than an hour, almost no cars passing and the ones who did either didn't have place or said they couldn't take me so I decided to jump the fence and go to Milhaud where I bought a TER ticket for 5€ to Avignon.

Very easy and fast to get a ride (was standing with a sign to Lyon after the last roundabout) but ask where exactly the driver is going before getting in the car as the guy who picked me up said he's not going all the way to Lyon and then on the way said he's going to Nice and can bring me to the next Aire which was very small and impossible to get out of.

got a lift of out marseille after hours to this gas station, which has loads of cars coming and going (at least between 3PM and 4PM while i was there). i asked everyone a lift to Nimes with my broken french, and for what i understood there were loads of locals, and people directed to Marseille
eventually got a lift to arles
