I hiched here in full sesion so the traffic jam wwnt from the top all the way down. So it didnt realy matter wher i stand. But this spot has a shade and trashcan neer by.

And people here even tho they didnt have space gave my some food for the journy so that was nice. Was here with sing to Torino but guy took me to Milan (not bad)

Great spot towards Italy. Many cars on a weekday in July, around 11am.
Waited for 20 minutes for a ride east. Although it took me only to Chamonix.

Late morning in July, sunny weather.
Great spot to get cars towards Italy and the Mt Blanc tunnel. I waited right after the second roundabout.
People were really nice although it took me a bit of time to find someone with room inside.

Can be a good spot, but mutch better when there is a bit of traffic since cars will be standing still allowing you to negociate. Just try to stay a bit incognito and not move around, i got spotted and kicked out when i started going around the lorries because i got impatient. And don't expect any sympathy from italian drivers.

Its a toll booth, so as always a great place to be as a hitchhiker (feels super safe). It is reachable by foot even if your driver leaves you on the highway exit just before like was my case

This is the best spot towards chamonix, but very little traffic going out of the city in the morning on weekdays, people mostly drive towards chamonix in weekends. I went to the speedbump at one point but after some time the border control came over and asked me to move further away so i recommend just staying at the round "no pedestrians" sign.

Great spot to catch cars going towards italy. I recommend the walk up here if you get let off at the roundabout like i did. Its not too long, just follow the forest path, and here you have good visibility and cars plenty space to pull over. The spot on the turn before is bad: barrier blocking cars from pulling over

Très bon spot, les voitures peuvent très bien s'arrêter
Un pu d'attente tout de même et beaucoup de chance car des locaux allant à Bonneville nous ont amené jusqu'à Samoëns

I was on my way to Thann not far from Mulhouse when a women who worked in chamonix picked me up. Not far, but she took me to a better place to hitchhike.

Direction : Italy

It is the easiest point to go to Italy : All the cars passing by here go through the Mont-Blanc Tunnel

Wait just after the roundabout (not further, it may be dangerous).

Good place if you go to Italy through the Mont-Blanc Tunnel in Chamonix

DO NOT hitch here if you go to Chamonix! You have to go to the next Highway exit at the east of the city...
