NO GAS STATION BEFORE MULHOUSE―Anonymous

People will stop but it's hard if there are cars behind (small room on the side). Maybe it's better to do that in Bergheim center. Thanks Brigitte and Elisabeth―Anonymous

Good spot but not much cars, been lucky to have someone that went to Austria, let me to my destination on the A35―Anonymous

A local dropped me off here thursday evening, young solo woman heading to Lyon. I asked people directly in the rest stop, and was offered a ride from the second person I asked. Seems like a good place to end up overnight if necessary - food court and store, free restrooms, good lighting.―Celine

Thursday evening, young solo woman trying to go to Lyon. Was super empty, very little traffic. It also seemed like the gas station was out of gas for some reason. Took 1 hour until someone offered me a ride to a better spot - Aire du Haut Koenigsbourg, where I got a ride immediately.―Celine

Waited quite long, tried asking people around for a lift to Basel/Bern. There are swiss cars passing by, but I was offered to go to North mostly (even to Belgium). Despite the wait, it's a good spot to get a ride in many directions. (Cars mostly from D & F, but also many I, NL, B, CH, occasionaly even S, L, UK. Probably good to have a sign.If you are going south and get offered a ride only to Mullhouse it's probably better to reject the offer and wait for longer ride, since there are not such places like this one to wait at.

2 guys, after sunsetWe were heading to Switzerland, after unsuccessful attempt on Strasbourg station we ended up here and took ride to Switzerland in 10 minutes. It's very great spot and it's very possible to hitchhike even after sunset because there's a lot of lighting to see you properly.

On the right side (to go north to Strasbourg) it's more difficult, because most people go to the gasstation on the other side, and then they don't stop on your side when they are returning on the highway.―Fred57

Direction: Strasbourg. Just north of round-about there is a place for cars to pull over. Heavy traffic towards Strasbourg. We (2 girls) waited less than 5 minutes before being picked up. Nice view of a mini Statue of Liberty while you wait.―Anonymous

Great spot! I waited only 20 minutes as I got a lift buy a very nice truck driver. Cars (and trucks) slow down at the round-about and can park in the commercial zone parking. It's really an ideal spot to hitch-hike from. Don't forget to get as close as possible to the round-about so drivers can see you.―Anonymous

Busy Service Station, wait where people pull out from parking with a sign. Toilets, showers and food available in the big service station.―Anonymous
