Took me a while but eventually got a ride to the border. Used a sign with "Francia". The traffic lights before this turned out to be better as they were red way more often and had a slighlty better placw to pull over.―Anonymous

We ( Boy & Gril ) waited with another hitchhiker couple! They got a ride to the next gas station after 40mins. We were so lucky to find an elderly couple who speak english, that could take us all the way to Bordeaux :DWe definitely had to wait so long because not many pass by early in the morning! 2/3pm is the best time here.
Also it may be better to get a ride before the gas station in france as the gas prices are higher - still some people go to eat and do a stop here.
Just go around as ask 😁🌱

As a driver, I pass by the place every time I go to Pamplona. I think it is a good spot both to Pamplona or to France (Biarritz, Bayonne, etc...)―Anonymous

We was 2. We wanted to go to Portugal and find à Truck. But it's impossible. Trucks don't have 2 sits and there is not à lot of people for Portugal (90% are going to France A8-Baiona). So we tried 3 hours and we didn't found so we slept in our tent the night and tried again on the Highway up there for 2 hours (not a good spot at all - not a lot of space to stop and cops scary the drivers)So we went back to this spot and tried again to go to the AP1or8 and found someone for a gas station 40 km away.

We came there from San Sebastien, and entered from tolls just 2-3 km ahead and we had a problem with one of the workers he insisted on not to let us and police was there but they didn't care and we went to the other side of the road slept (there is service road very clean and safe for camping) there at night and in the morning 5 am we pass the tolls from side of supermarkets and got a ride in 15 mins (crayz gay surfers who were going to catch the waves of France, best ride ever). You can you use the service road to the gas station but at night lots of dogs on that road (we tried may be 20 dogs on that 2 km road and cows, bulls wow! man it was crayz.)―Astala27

This is the first gas station after the French border. Because gas is cheaper in Spain, many cars stop here. Foreign cars are more likely to give you a ride!―Anonymous

I targeted this petrol station following advice from a Portuguese truck driver who picked me up in Italy. My goal was to skip hitchhiking through Spain altogether and get to Portugal from here. Above the petrol station there is a big truck parking with a lot of trucks going both directions. If you ask around, you could get lucky. Also, my advice would be to be friendly and accepting of their hospitality. It might take some effort to work up to it. They offered me drinks and food and I didn't say no to drinks (I wasn't hungry). I ended up with an arrangement to have a ride the next day all the way to Aveiro, Portugal. I took that as plan B and went down to the petrol station with a "Portugal" sign (and a beer in the other hand) and got a ride within 5 minutes to Castelo Branco, Portugal.―Disappearer
