Found a ride to Marneuli in 5 minutes, than from Marneuli straight to Yerevan in about 10 minutes, good spot plenty of space for drivers to stop

hitchhiked from the edge of gyumri to tbilisi over many rides, the waiting time was always very short, however many drivers will decline you a ride because they're not going all the way because they don't understand that hitchhiking is about getting many smaller rides, so you may need to explain this to them

Take the bus there, you can check it on G Maps. Its best to go to Armenia because it has no inner city traffic. Literally took me 1 minute. Lots of space for the driver and they are still slow due to a traffic light a few meters before the stop. Sign to Yerevan got me to Marneuli.

Nice place, lots of cars and marsuckas if you can't get a ride. Stand right in front of the bridge, don't stand near the bus stop. The only thing is that it is quite hectic here, so drivers might be distracted.

if you want to Hitchhike from Tbilisi to west, to the black sea coast, first you should get out from Tbilisi by bus. You can take #84 bus from Tsereteli Avenue or #64 from Chavchavadze Avenue which goes out from Tbilisi and drops you on the main highway from which majority of cars go to the west of Georgia. You should get off bus on David Agmashenebeli Kheivani (Valley), the best one is to get off at Lukoil Gas Station and take a walk about 150 metres and start to hitchhike. You can say Hello in Georgian 'Gamarjoba' to the driver and ask for the ride. 'I have no money' in Georgian is 'Puli ar mak' so you can use this phrase as well in hitching in Georgia. Drivers are super-friendly so you won't have any probs.

if you want to catch the ride for Kazbegi (Stepantsminda) which is in the Northern Georgia, the Mtskheta Highway is the best way to Hitchhike. Hold the Kazbegi sign with a little smile and you'll get the ride, though it may take some time. be patient and you'll get the ride.

There is written that there are buses #84 and #64, but you can take any bus to Digomi district or Zahesi district or you can use metro to Didube station and from bus station take bus to agricultural university. I start hitch-hiking after Gldani turn (there is long bridge, so you will see it). after there is several turns but in most of cases drivers are keeping the main road.

Alternatively stand 600 meter before on the shoulder of the highway (on the other side of the river, close to exit to Mtskheta). Take Mtskheta-mashrutka and tell driver to stop there. Good enough place with lots of traffic.
