Pretty bad spot overall, even a little dangerous. Suffice to say that cars go very fast and won't have time to see you and decide to stop, even if they want to. There's lots of traffic coming from the west and changing directions here, so you have a chance to approach drivers and request a ride east if you ever see yourself stuck here like I was.―Hikehitcher

Usually got picked up within 5 minutes, there is only 1 road heading to most places so the chance somebody will pick you up is quite high, we even got picked up here with 3 people at 9pm heading towards tbilisi―tondapolak

I was standing on the start of the turning lane with kutaisi sign and guy stopped and took me all the way to mestia. still not the best spot since you’re basically hitchhiking on the highway but very possible.―Matej

Gori Highway is the best place to hitchhike if you're going to the western Georgia especially. A lot of trucks and cars are passing this highway so you'll catch the ride easily. You can even catch the Turkish trucks going directly to Turkey so pick that up.―Anonymous
