There were many cars here but we had to get to Freiburg. I think it can be a bit tricky to get into Freiburg as its not far away and people probably dont take a break so close to their destination. But we got lucky and a guy picked us (2 guys) up with his pick up truck―Thumbouttakeme

Germans were rather unwilling to stop as there was not enough space to stop. I was exactly at the intersection to get both sides traffic. It's not fantastic, but it's fairly easy to stop and people go slowly. Many city people who aren't going long distances. But they smile and wave kindly. I wanted to go north and had A5 on my sign. In the 20 minutes I was standing there 4 people stopped who were all going south on the A5. In the end I took a ride just to get out of the city and onto a A5 highway entrance.―Bigworldsmallsarah
