It's a bit of an awkward place to stop, but it's the countryside so people are nice and patient. Also, there's a nice forest to camp next to the highway there. Rainbow accessible but very low visibility.―Bigworldsmallsarah

First we tried the gas station in the back, but it was dead. (Sunday evening) I think no one wants to tank in Switzerland when Germany is so close. Then we tried asking the police if we could stand at the border post, since the cars go so nice and slow. They told us no. Bastards. Anyway. Then we switched between asking people in the McD parking lot and flagging down cars from the highway to enter into the parking lot (seems very impossible but we didn't have much other options.) in the end the asking at the parking lot worked. During the day it's probably a lot easier, but it's not a nice place to be stuck at night. Also the McD closes at 22.―Bigworldsmallsarah

Germans were rather unwilling to stop as there was not enough space to stop. I was exactly at the intersection to get both sides traffic. I was lucky as a guy came in a huge BMW stopped in the middle of the road just to let me in, oblivious of the others cars behind him! He then drove me fast to Karlsruhe (up to 180km/h!).―Cottano

It's not fantastic, but it's fairly easy to stop and people go slowly. Many city people who aren't going long distances. But they smile and wave kindly. I wanted to go north and had A5 on my sign. In the 20 minutes I was standing there 4 people stopped who were all going south on the A5. In the end I took a ride just to get out of the city and onto a A5 highway entrance.―Bigworldsmallsarah
