always tricky to hitchhike on a highway, but this spot turned out to be super useful and successful, coming from Strasbourg and wanting to go south to Switzerland. cars have room to stop (only) on the left hand side, and you can get a ride to any gas station or parking/rest place further on the highway.i got there by being droped on the previous highway exit, and walking along the fields, coming up to the highway right at the beginning of the exit lane.

The other place mentioned (300m NE) is useless, roads were heavily changed. Try it here at the Shell gas station to get a hitch to the A5. If people go north and you want to go south, nevertheless grap the ride and get out at the next gas station on the autobahn (Renchtal). There you can go over a bridge to the opposite station and get a ride there. at least thats what we did.―Anonymous

a big parking but difficult to get there by walking.even though it is a car park but there is no people at all, you could only hitchhike the cars that are stopped by the traffic lights.
