Usually a pretty good spot since people go all kinds of places. I asked around four 30mins until I found a ride to near Arnhem (the person was going to Zevenaar)―Anonymous

Very good spot to get out of Oberhausen onto A3 in the direction of Arnhem. There's a traffic light you can stand next to with a sign. Mine was super improvised and it still worked in like 5 minutes. Not super far but to Hünxe which I knew to be a good spot to continue. Was pretty late, so I might have been lucky with Feierabend traffic―Anonymous

Hünxe. Sometimes you get a ride to Ohligers Heide in 30 minutes, sometimes you wait 3 hours before accepting a ride into the HH'ers hell that is Ruhrpot. Today was the latter. Don't be like me. It's (at least) Ohligers Heide or nothing.―Anonymous

It looked like it was to busy for people to stop, but I still got a ride to Hünxe in 3 minutes.―Anonymous

Good spot! Even in the morning (07:30) loads of people, most of them going towards germany! Good spot for asking around, not so much for throwing up your thumb.―83105777978

Take a train to Oberhausen-Sterkrade and then the bus #979 to "Heinrich-Heine-Str." in Bottrop. From there you'll see the highway, just walk towards it. Good spot to hitch away fast towards Hamburg, Münster,Hannover, Berlin―Anonymous

It´s quit a good area to get away...sundern and all points of the sauerland. the people are not as ,,narrow-minded´´ as you probably appraise...―Anonymous

We wanted to go to Hannover and we were in 3 ppl, maybe that's why it took us more than 3 hours to find a car going there―Anonymous

Got a lift to Ham after about 30 minutes of asking people at the door. Many people were going north (or atleast said they were). Lots of people moving through.―Matt567

This is simply the best spot available eastwards. It might seem tricky if you want to hitch towards Berlin, but it will work out, eventually. Stay along the A2, it's worth it!―The hydrA

I also say for the ppl going eastwards: Stay on the A2!!!―Maxdubi

If youre heading Berlin first ask for getting out of this area because a lot of people will leave the road soon. Later it is much more easier to find a lift to Berlin or Hannover. For Hamburg get off "Hannover Garbsen"―Anonymous
