We got from here to Dresden fairly quickly. I get the point that the spot isn’t super accessible, but if you walk along the outskirts of the field, you don’t have to wade through too much shrubbery. It’s a very doable hike, even without appropriate shoes. (Just make sure not to step into the little stream running along the 14; it’s very obscured by tall grass, but you can jump across it.) Even though there’s no shoulder, cars can easily pull over on the grass.

We waited for quite a long time with a sign that said Dresden. Eventually got a lift halfway. Drivera can stop but it's not great tbh.

Prpbably a great place to go to dresden because we got offered like 4 times. We were going to leipzig tho. Even though this place is just before the turn on the highway there weren't a lot of people who could take us there. Eventually got picked up by a couple who dropped us of in thr middle of Leipzig.

When i arrived a truck was there and upon asking took me straight to leipzig. To get to the spot i took the bus to Auchan and walked along the fence until i found a hole

I waited two hours but it was a low traffic day and eventually there was some works on the gas station. Definitely the best place to go west ! Got a ride to Leipzig. If you really want to go to Germany it's completely doable there's a lot of Germans. Actually more than Austrians haha. But you have to talk to them. I waited almost two hours at the exit of the gas station then I decided to talk directly to the gas station and I was offered also a ride by a bus driver for free to Graz at the same moment I asked Hungarian couple with a dutch plate, they were going at the North of Holland but we agree to let them drop me at Leipzig. Thanks Catarina and Zaly :)

It’s shortly before Hamburg, so unless you want to go there, don’t stop here. We wanted to go further south, and no one was going further than Hamburg

Super good spot to go south. Everyone can see you and stop.

It's not an ideal spot. There are traffic lights, so cars drive slowly, and there's a bus stop where they can stop, but if you're alone, only the cars in front will see you. If there are two of you, one person can go a little ahead so passing cars can see them first.

Got a ride to Raststätte Muldental after 9 minutes.

Got a ride fast but it was only to Dresdner Tor gas station rather than Dresden itself. I suggest you only accept a direct ride, because there’s little local traffic from there.

For some reason it took me much longer than expected to get a ride to Leipzig.

Decent traffic and most cars are going to or towards Leipzig.

The first car I approached took me all the way to Leipzig, look for German licence plates and they have Bundesrepublik on their plates.

Not so lucky as some others, but still fairly good. I hitchiked with a sing 'Dresden'. I started on Sunday at 11 a.m., so not many cars going longer distance.

Spot is really a gem for direction Dresden and lot of room to stop, got a ride around 40 mins but no sign. May June July hitchhikers beware : you’ll have to hike around 15 minutes in a dense vegetation ditch full of thorns and wheat shrub, impassable for shoes other than Hike boot or mountaineering.
P.s. found 30€ in cash while walking to the spot. Reminds me how much we all pay for Idiot tax in life…
