big(ish) road going through small place, you get the best of both worldsloads of space to pull over in front of church, cars are going slow into the village, can see you from far away, many people driving down this direction

Bit of a hard spot to hitch down to Kenmare; there is no space to pull over. But then again, there's not a huge lot of cars, so people can just stop in the middle of the road, and they will. Should be a decent spot to hitch towards Cork on the N22, too.―Anonymous

There is a cutout, where cars can stop well and where you are still seen by the drivers from a distance. Direction Fossa, Killorglin or Dingle. I always hitch there to the Killarney Youth Hostel, just 5 km further (before Fossa). It takes me a bit longer than hitching into Killarney, however it works well. About 10-15min waiting time.―Anonymous

This is too easy! I hitch to Killarney almost every day just to buy some groceries, normaly it takes 3 minuts, but never stand there longer than 15 minuts, everybody goes to Killarney, 'cause it is still 5km. You stand at the bus stop, and the drivers can already see you from far away. The buses only pass 4 times daily, and walking to Killarney is not necessary although there is a path next to the road that leads you directly in there.―Anonymous
