climbed up from the bus stop directly north of the service station, very thick with foliage, i recommend try the path to the east. lots of people on the sunday i tried it. non italians were far more receptive to me asking for a ride. got a ride from a lovely french couple to another service station near la spezia to try and get a ride to nice.―Anonymous

Not sure what was wrong with this place, probably bad luck. Station is well placed people stops there but most of them do not want to give us a ride. Some folks was going to Florence. We ware trying to get a hike in Rome direction it was very problematic We catch it after 7h of waiting―Wendrowiec

good spot, found a ride in 35min passed lucca. not many cars, many locals. Not easy to reach tho, i cycled 40min to the uni close by, then walked 30min, then went through many bushes and i climbed 2 fences... maybe there is an easier way but i didn't find it―jurichezzbmx
