On this road, with a sign saying "TRENI CANCELLATI" (="TRAINS CANCELLED"), we got cars stopping in sympathy for us. No-one was going east towards Arenzano/Genova, though.―Anonymous

Bad spot to go to France, too many other directions.I was took here by the driver from Genova, fortunatelty I found someone who took me to the first gas station inside the highway direction Ventimiglia.

I had to wait for about 2.5 hours, but I have to say it was my very first hitch in a toll station, and I wasn't very "pushy"... ;)This place if good for both directions in the motorway (west towards Ventimiglia or Nice, and east towards Genova).

From Genoa to Cogoleto and you should walk west from Cogoleto don't take way for pedestrians, which is going just paralel to sea. Just walk from the national road at the end of cogoleto (there is bride on the right). BTW, that road we walked was the most beatiful part of our travel awesome view. The place we hitchhike was amazing we found a ride in 2 mins when we were walking towards the exit road :)―Anonymous

Station right at the Autostrada in eastern direction. I came here by a lift from Bordighera but it is also reachable by foot cause via the SS1 just right beside it. I had to wait for about three hours till i got a ride to Milano. Should work better if you want to stay at the coast or going to the centre of Genova.―Anonymous

Normal spot in order to get rides road to Genova, Alessandria, Milano or Torino. Right at the end of the last long painted median strip before the toll. You can have a good eye communication with the drivers because they pass close to you for your left and also for your right. The traffic is affluent and the cars are slowing down. It's better to use a sign.―Anonymous

not exactly the spot, but look forthe entrance of the port. there are ferries coming time to time with lot's of trucks to Slovenia, North-Italy, Hungary, Ukraine, etc. stand after the roundabout, because there is a place for them to pull down.―Anonymous
