This is a bus stop. It's good (well, OK) for Genova.

We got a ride to Tortona here, however we were very lucky. There must be better spots on this road - but this road looks like a good one for the autostrada.

Should be OK for getting a ride west. But we used it for getting a ride EAST - city-hitching into Genova centre - and it worked very well.

Strolled through the streets direction to the highway .. tried our luck thumbing, asked people at traffice lights .. no luck only locals.
Finally we took the train out the city and got kicked out half an hour later.

Me and my girlfriend had to got East and it was pretty hard to find someone that goes in the same direction, with space for us and willing to gave us a ride. Fortunatetly after more than one hour and a half, we fould a polish couple that brought us almost until Venice. Before we managed to find a ride to Suisse and one to Alessandria, but they were not useful respsect our destination.

It should be a nice spot to get a ride to France. Although the high flow of cars, I took 4 hours to get a ride there.

I had to wait for about 2.5 hours, but I have to say it was my very first hitch in a toll station, and I wasn't very "pushy"... ;)

This place if good for both directions in the motorway (west towards Ventimiglia or Nice, and east towards Genova).

From Genoa to Cogoleto and you should walk west from Cogoleto don't take way for pedestrians, which is going just paralel to sea. Just walk from the national road at the end of cogoleto (there is bride on the right). BTW, that road we walked was the most beatiful part of our travel awesome view. The place we hitchhike was amazing we found a ride in 2 mins when we were walking towards the exit road :)

Station right at the Autostrada in eastern direction. I came here by a lift from Bordighera but it is also reachable by foot cause via the SS1 just right beside it. I had to wait for about three hours till i got a ride to Milano. Should work better if you want to stay at the coast or going to the centre of Genova.

Entrance of the highway direction to France. Not very good, signs that forbid hh, weird autostrada entrance.
You can give it a try if you count to be picked up fast. Get here easily and cheaply with the regional train from Genova centre till Genova Voltri. I got caught by police but since Im Italian I managed to defend myself.

It is a very tricky spot because depend on where you have to go,you will find many people that doesn't go in your direction. From here you can go east through Piacenza, North to Milan and north West to Turin and Suisse.
