Got dropped off here after leaving Nice, en route to Italy. Quite a small services but beautiful views and we found it promising as we saw lots if places to sleep if we weren't lucky enough to get a lift. We got a few sympsthetic refusal nods from drivers and then two lovely Germans in their way hone offered to take us to Italy.

Good stop just got to watch out for the cop going to police station behind it’s kinda like five nights at Freddie’s when you have to hide your sign and then take it back out, got a ride to Milano in a nice BMW got lucky

We waited at the gas station, not that much traffic, but a car took as after 15 minutes to an autogrill towards Torino. 1 female & 1 male

Bad Spot for going to Genova. We waited a whole afternoon and evening and the next morning again. Few cars compared to bigger autogrill stations. Got kicked out by the police in the evening after waiting 3 hours. They were chill and just told us to leave the rest area to a small road in the back.
In the end we got a ride to Genova.

We, couple, asked people on gas station and found a french family going to Cannes. They took us to highway gas station near Savona, where were opened door from the station to the Savona town.

good spot to go towards France, male a sign to Savona or Imperia so that people can easier lift you, there's a gas station where you can ask people

The traffic is not bad, we used a combination of one guy asks at the door of the autogrill and the second tries with a thumb up, eventually got a car using the thumb to Pisa, but I would try asking the foreign cars in person to maximise chances since Italians simply wont stop🥲

the spot is just a gas station...theresl was a guy working there and a sign saying NO AUTOSTOP, but literally the first van i asked to drove to to Arenzano, about 30km away

Hard spot to get to, little bit of bush bashing needed. Wouldn’t recommend walking up the road. Not the best on time either, didn’t get moved on tho

For heading west there is a gas station here that is open 24 hours. Zoom in and check out the satellite view. Directly north of the station there is the entrance to the highway that catches traffic coming through the station as well as from the main road. Just stand at this point with a sign for Varazze or Savona and get off at any big service station along the way. If you are downtown, to get to the gas station get on bus no 1 and just say to the driver "Autostrade Genova Ovest" or hand him a note. I had poor luck after 6pm (which is why the 24 hours station was handy) but caught a ride quickly in the morning. Don't make a sign for too far west or the locals will think you're crazy. Baby steps.
