To Riga, Talsi, Tukums. It looks like a perfect place for hhiking, but people from Ventspils are not very hitchhikers-friendly. You must be very activ to bring an attention to your person:)―Anonymous

Towards Kuldīga, may be possible to get a ride to Liepāja as well.This side of the road has lots of space for many kilometres for cars to stop. Waiting time depends, I have hitched a ride in both 10 minutes and 1 hour.

Direction - Riga (also to get to Talsi, Kandava, Tukums).If you don't feel like going all the way where the city ends, try your luck here. After the gas station the road has plenty of space for cars to stop, but the traffic isn't so big since the majority of cars usually take the opposite road (Kurzemes iela/A10). If you don't happen to get a ride, try to go over the railway to Kurzemes iela/A10 (just beware of the trains), but note that it's hard to find a place where a car can stop on that road.
