If you're heading to Auckland from Piha this place is perfect: they can see you from a fair distance, there's room to stop and almost everyone goes back to Auckland from here. Less than 15 min.―Anonymous

I wouldn't say it's the best spot (not so much room to stop), but if you're heading west (Piha in my case) I'd give it a try. It took me less than 10 minutes to get a lift.―Anonymous

You can take the bus from the centre till this point. Then you can hitchike on to the great tent campsite in Huia and tramp your way to Piha in two days. Great adventure!―Jonathan
