Decent spot for heading south towards Hamilton/Wellington. Lots of space to pull over. Found a ride to Hamilton after 20-30 minutes - most traffic is going straight under the motorway on the 22 but decent amount of cars going south on the 1.

The northbound on-ramp sadly lacks stopping space. You can thumb at the exit from the service station or ask drivers, or employ a spot slightly down Mill Road towards the West where you will have ride offers going north or south.
