First, I hitched a ride on the nearby parking and found a car going directly to Narvik (my destination), hopped in, and immediately got the biggest emotional rollercoaster ever. He chose the Swedish route, but I wanted to use the Norwegian route with the beautiful views. I decided not to go with him, and after hitching for a few minutes directly on the highway, I got a ride from the city.―martih

Cars go pretty fast, but they can see you clearly, and it's a bus stop, so they can easily pull over. A sign Stjordal. The guy brought me to a better place than this one. Maybe I just got lucky, but it is a decent spot.―martih

This was my luck spot, BUT check if there is still a construction site here. There is a construction traffic light, and cars have to stop. It's the main route, and from time to time, there are roadworks, which are, in my opinion, the best places to hitch around here. I found a car all the way to Trondheim. Btw: there is a cool urbex place nearby, an old house, so if you end up here, you might as well check it out.―martih

TONs of traffic w/ Norwegians going to the city after harryhandel. Raining hard and some lady took pity on me and picked me up near-instantly, but I don’t expect it would take long otherwise―Bigdeidiot

Very good spot to spend the night and to hitchhike, although the bar is an expensive one.―Anonymous

This is where the trucks get loaded. You can ask the drivers for a ride.―Anonymous

Direction: south. If you spent the night in the Moholt student village or for some other reason are in this area, you might as well try to start from this highway entrance if you're going south. I have not tried it yet, but next time I will defenitely start from here before walking around for hours trying to find a better place (which you probably won't)―Anonymous

This seemed the best spot to get out of Stordal. There is a round with enough space for cars to pull over.―Anonymous
