We (2 boys) waited 4mins only when a driver took us to Krakow. It was August, Tuesday, around 1.15 PM

We (2 boys) were walking to this place called Łysa Polana downhill from parking at Polana Palenica (1,5 km), trying to get a lift to Zakopane. We got to Łysa Polana and waited by the bus stop for 3 minutes, then we got a lift to Zakopane. Our friends, 3 girls, walking about 100m before us, got a lift to Bukowina Tatrzańska about 500m Łysa Polana. If you're lucky you may also catch a ride further than to Zakopane as there are many tourists coming from far away. They usually use parking at Polana Palenica and all of them go through Łysa Polana, too. The problem is that people who go further than to Zakopane are mainly families so their cars are rather packed.

2 girls got a ride to Zakopane from a couple leaving a parking after 5 mins of walking. 500m to the east, on the bus stop, boy&girl got a ride after 20mins and right after them, 200m to the east, on the next bus stop, the same car took 2 more hitchikers to Zakopane.

We (2 boys) got a lift to Skomielna Biała (direction - Krakow) after 10 mins. Our friends (2 girls) waited 30 mins and got a lift to Nowy Targ. There's a bus stop and cars go rather slow as it's still in the city.

Good place to Kraków direction. Drivers can stop well on the sliproad and can see you from far. Traffic must slow down because there is a pedestrian crossing. On the gas station you can ask personally. Heavy traffic goes to Kraków.

Try not to end up here in the first place, there is really low traffic. But I got a lift to the Trstena E77 after 15 minutes with a really nice driver :) I just stood next to the road, there is space to stop here and because it's down a small hill the cars can easily see you
