the further you go north from the town, the better the spot for the drivers is and you also collect cars that go from the sides. my opinion: don't wait here, start going north and put thumb up at each turn.

On the right side there is some place to hitchike on the north, in Oswiecim direction, and further (A3 or E75) i use it often and i'm waiting for about 5-10 minutes, it's a good place to hitchike

Two boys waited here for 20mins on their way to Prague, and got a short-distance 10km lift to Kęty.

Small petrol station, but the cars are not going too fast so you can try to stick out your thumb too :). After less than 5min of asking me and my friend got a lift to Wadowice. The driver was going even further to Oświęcim. I think it's also quite easy to get a lift to Kraków from here.
