Waited there for like an hour till I got a hike 70km outside Lisbon. I 'd say its a good spot cause there are many portuguese shopping in the mall that's there. I imagine I would have gotten a hike sooner, or better but it was 7:30 in the afternoon of a Sunday. :/ Shit happens.―LowInertia

Be careful if you're going in direction of Portugal, people stop more likely in the spanish side, since gaz is cheaper there.―Remigr

Plenty of cars, but most of the traffic is local. The Portuguese ones go mainly just to Elvas. We were tempted to hitch to the gas station on the other side of the border or to Elvas and try our luck there, but later realized that it wouldn't be a good solution, it's so deserted there.
It took us around 1,5h to get a ride straight to Lisbon by the nacional. If you go further than just across the border, better to stick to this place.

Asked drivers then decided to make a sign Badajoz/Trujilo. 1 hour later got picked up.You have to stand in a complete sun, no place to hide from it. Wouldn’t recommend staying here 12:00-18:00 without sunscreen
