we were coming from south (Tarifa, Sevilla), and used this spot to change west.
found a ride to Badajoz

if you need to camp over night, seems to be a chilled olive grove behind the charging station for electric cars.

From this gas station very difficult to find a car to Madrid. It.s better to do it on the next.

Waited there for like an hour till I got a hike 70km outside Lisbon. I 'd say its a good spot cause there are many portuguese shopping in the mall that's there. I imagine I would have gotten a hike sooner, or better but it was 7:30 in the afternoon of a Sunday. :/ Shit happens.

Be careful if you're going in direction of Portugal, people stop more likely in the spanish side, since gaz is cheaper there.

I got a 700km ride here that I would never forget. I got to this spot with a 1h walk from the historic centre. get water and food before. People stop and give hints, police don't bother at all. Bus is also possible.

Plenty of cars, but most of the traffic is local. The Portuguese ones go mainly just to Elvas.
We were tempted to hitch to the gas station on the other side of the border or to Elvas and try our luck there, but later realized that it wouldn't be a good solution, it's so deserted there.
It took us around 1,5h to get a ride straight to Lisbon by the nacional. If you go further than just across the border, better to stick to this place.

Simply amazing. perfect traffic, perfect speed.
Get here walking from the centre (45min), there's also a bus which stops at the near roundabout.
I was very lucky and got a huge lift, but people stopped to propose rides. Most cars go to Merida and Madrid directly.

Asked drivers then decided to make a sign Badajoz/Trujilo. 1 hour later got picked up.
You have to stand in a complete sun, no place to hide from it. Wouldn’t recommend staying here 12:00-18:00 without sunscreen
